Dual-Degree Students

While all Hostos students have access to both faculty and full-time professional advisors/coaches, students enrolled in one of our dual-degree programs receive added support to ensure that they are able to successfully navigate both Hostos graduation requirements and the transfer requirements at our partner institutions.   The type of additional support provided varies by program as outlined below.

Engineering

Students with majors in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil or Environmental Engineering should continue to see the advisor or Success Coach assigned to them when they enrolled at Hostos until they have successfully completed MAT 150.

Once students have completed MAT 150, they then begin to receive advisement regarding course selection from a faculty advisor.  Students can access information regarding their assigned faculty advisor via an online tool located on the Dual Degree Programs webpage.

While faculty advisors provide advisement on course selection following MAT 150, advisors and Success Coaches continue to provide programming and advisement regarding other factors that contribute toward student academic success.  All engineering students also receive support from the dual-degree coordinator.

Criminal Justice

Students with majors in Criminal Justice and Forensic Science receive academic advisement primarily from the advisor or Success Coach assigned to them when they enrolled at Hostos.  Students also receive support from the dual-degree coordinator and, while faculty advisors are also assigned, advisors and Success Coaches are charged with guiding students with course selection throughout their academic career at Hostos.

Students who major in Fraud Examination and Financial Forensics should begin receiving advisement regarding course selection from faculty advisors following the successful completion of MAT150. Prior to successfully completing MAT150, students receive academic advisement from the advisor or Success Coach assigned to them when they enrolled at Hostos. Students can access information regarding their assigned faculty advisor via an online tool located on the Dual Degree Programs webpage.
