Submit a Story Idea

The Office of Communications welcomes story ideas for press releases, news articles and audio/visual productions. If you would like to request a press release for any type of event or newsworthy announcement, you must fill out our Online College Communications Request Form.  Please provide our office at least three (3) weeks notice so that we can gather all necessary information.

Announcements, College Events Calendar, CUNY Events Calendar and the College’s Electronic Bulletin Board and Distribution Systems

The Office of Communications may help publicize and promote campus events via the College's web news pages, the College events calendar, CUNY Events Calendar, and other internal and external means of communication, including the Hostos Distribution List, the Student Distribution List, and the College’s electronic bulletin board system.

Authorized faculty, students and staff may submit events that have been approved by the Space Reservation Committee on the Hostos Events Calendar by visiting, and on the CUNY Events Calendar at

Once you have submitted your event, the Office of Communications will review and approve the information submitted. Please allow 72 hours for the review and posting of your event.
