Registration

To enroll your child in any of our programs you must pick up in application from the Hostos Children’s Center. We are located on the first level of the A-Building!

NYC Early Education Center

Pre-K For All Program
 
All children born in 2012 are eligible to enroll
For the free Pre-K For All program, parents must register their child by September 29, 2016!
 

Hostos Care

Toddler Program (children 2 – 3 years of age)
& Preschool Program (children 3 – 4 years of age)
  • There is no enrollment cutoff date!
  • Your child must be 2 years old prior to first day
  • To reserve your childcare slot, there is a non-refundable registration fee of $50 due at the time of registration
  • Each child must register for a minimum of 6 hours per week. Each child is scheduled on a consistent basis for the entire semester. Hostos Children’s Center does not provide drop-in or babysitting services.
 

Step 1

  • Stop by the Hostos Children’s Center to pick up an interest packet.
  • Complete the interest packet and return it to the Hostos Children’s Center
  • A staff member will review the packet, if all is completed and no areas for further discussion are found then Step 1 is finished (If not student-parent will meet with an administrator)

Step 2

  • It is mandatory for student-parents to submit the documents outlined below. We will provide the necessary documents during the transition meeting from Step 1 to Step 2.
    • Medical Exam (must be completed by your doctor; document must be less than a year old) 
    • Current Immunization Record
    • Day Care Cumulative Health Record (Yellow Form)
    • Brief Respiratory Questionnaire (BRQ)
    • Child’s Birth Certificate
    • Child’s Social Security Card
    • Parent’s Social Security Card
    • Current Government Issued Photo ID (Driver’s License, State ID, Passport/Visa, ID NYC, Green Card, or Permanent Residency Card)
    • 2 Current Proofs of Parent’s Residency (ID with address can serve as one proof, Official College Transcript with College ID, Pay Stub, Income Tax, Health Insurance Card with address printed, Utility Bill, Lease, Insurance Policy, etc.)
    • Income Verification (Current Income Tax, Pay Stub, Child Support Letter, etc.)
    • Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) form, which is an additional document requiring income and household information
    • Child’s Social Developmental Profile
    • Registration fee (non-refundable)
      • ​(No fee for parents using only Pre-K For All & No Cost Full Day) 
  • Once the aforementioned documents are submitted a staff member will review and if all is fine an appointment for scheduling and tuition agreement will be made

Step 3

  • Student-parent will meet with a staff member to complete the childcare schedule and sign a tuition agreement. Child can start once this step is completed.
