Friday, May 29, 2020

Whether you’re graduating or cheering a graduate on, Commencement is something you won’t want to miss. This digital celebration will be no different. You’ll find information on Hostos’ 50th Commencement ceremony below. Make sure to save the date and keep an eye out for updates and for information we will need from you! Please check back often as information will be updated on a weekly basis.

This ceremony is open to all graduates from
Sept. ’19, Jan. ’20, Feb. ’20, June ’20, and Sept. ‘20.

If you have six (6) credits or less to complete your graduation requirements by August 2020, you may be allowed to participate in the virtual ceremony if you enroll to complete the coursework over the 2020 summer session(s).

If you or a family member need disability-related accommodations to view or hear the virtual ceremony, please write to commencementinfo@hostos.cuny.edu.

All are welcome to view the virtual ceremony, simply share the following link with your family and friends. The video will go live on Friday, May 29, 2020 at 10am.

Ceremony is approximately 2-2 ½ hours long (10:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.).

Everyone is invited to join us for a symbolic Move the Tassel moment at the end of the ceremony.

A digital ceremony has many of the same components of a live ceremony, which you and your guests will view online. During the ceremony, your name will appear on the screen along with your photo(s), a message you submit, and your major. We encourage you to wear your cap, gown, and accessories for your photo submission, but it is not required. For those who have already had a photo taken in academic regalia, please send it to us or you can upload a different photo that is appropriate for the occasion.
