CUNY Fatherhood Academy (CFA) at Hostos celebrated 24 student-fathers who completed their training to take the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) High School Equivalency test. Adam Cruz, Bryan David, Carl Dilligard, Clifford Johnson, Cyrus Bennett, Darin Minor, Darrell Green, Drew Wilcox, Gilbert Colon, Jonathan Colon, Sidick Adams, Jovane Green, Juan Lopez, Louie Torres, Michael Ortega, Mubarak Adams, Omarie Corley, Phillip Williams, Quaneil Simmons, Sha’Quinn Cromedy, Terrence Ramos, Thelmo Sanchez, Tylek McEleveen, and Victor Ramos.

On January 17, the CUNY Fatherhood Academy (CFA) at Hostos celebrated the accomplishments of 24 student-fathers who completed their 16 weeks of training required to take the Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC) High School Equivalency test.

The CFA is a comprehensive program designed to promote responsible parenting and economic stability for unemployed and underemployed young fathers through education, employment, and personal development. Increasing familial engagement, attaining a High School Equivalency diploma, and acquiring gainful employment are all essential goals for the participants enrolled in the CFA. The program’s central focus is to help young fathers prepare for and enroll into college with the understanding that earning a college degree is the most effective path toward providing long-term economic sustainability for themselves and their families.

Joining the celebration were Danielle Allen, CFA Program Director; Darryl Rogers, Senior Director of Pre-College Programs; Anthony Simmons, Senior Advisor for Strategic Initiative, NYC Young Men’s Initiative; as well as Andre Peterson, Bronx Fathers Taking Action from the Office of the Bronx Borough President, Ruben Diaz Jr.
