Hostos Students are now eligible to join the prestigious CUNY Service Corps

Hostos students are now eligible to join the prestigious CUNY Service Corps, the one of a kind educational and civic engagement program that transforms lives and enriches students with a paid employment experience, and where appropriate, college credits. Only students from five CUNY colleges—Hostos, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, LaGuardia Community College, New York City College of Technology, and Queens College—can participate of the 2019-2020 CUNY Service Corps grant year.

After applying through a CUNY Central Office open call, Hostos was selected and awarded nearly $500,000 in funding. The grant will allow Hostos students to join the distinguished University community of Service Corps participants who provide service to the community while building skills.

Since 2013, when CUNY Service Corps launched as a response to Super Storm Sandy, the “learn, earn, and serve” model of the CUNY Service Corps mobilizes students to work with organizations that improve the civic, economic, and environmental sustainability of New York City.
