Internationally renowned Jewish-Peruvian writer and Hostos Distinguished Professor, Isaac Goldemberg, has published a new collection of poems titled, Libro de reclamaciones (Book of Claims).

It is the first time that Goldemberg has published his poetry in Spain, and it includes selections from his long and prolific career. The book includes, "Book of Transformations," “Book of Roots,” “Songs and Poems of Fine Love,” “Just Passing Through,” and “Dialogues With Myself and My Others.” The volume also includes a prologue and illustrations from the poet and artist, Juan Carlos Mestre.

Mestre said of the work: “This book is full of faces and of people in search of their faces. It is full of words about the existence and the non-existence of God; words that spring from the bread, the houses, and the graves. It is full of voices that speak about our history, our memories, and our destiny as humans. This is a cabalistic book made of visible frontiers and invisible apparitions. Goldemberg writes about life as a territory populated by symbols; about women and men in pain and in hope of a better world.”
