Assistant Professor Kristopher Burrell

Assistant Professor Kristopher Burrell of the Behavioral and Social Science Department at Eugenio María de Hostos Community College of CUNY will give a lecture at the Museum of the City of New York on Thursday, April 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

As a participant in an educator series, Professor Burrell will discuss efforts to desegregate New York City’s public schools during the 1950s and 1960s, including the interconnections among such African-American intellectuals as Kenneth Clark, Milton Galamison, Bayard Rustin, and Malcolm X, who often worked together but competed with one another at times.
An adjunct professor at Hostos since the Fall of 2009 and an assistant professor since August 2013, Professor Burrell will cover topics he teaches, including the African-American civil rights movement.

There is a $10 fee for admission to the Museum, but the event is free. Reservations are required. The MCNY is located on Fifth Avenue at 103rd Street.
