The Role of our Student Social Worker and/or Advisor:

• The Student Social Worker and/or Advisor partners with students to address a range of issues to provide support so that students complete and succeed in the program. These may be but are not limited to: social service benefits, legal services, child care, housing, eviction prevention, entitlements, financial advisement, immigration, health care, and other community resources.

Accommodations for Individuals with Disabilities:

• For prospective students that are interested in a Hostos Continuing Education course and/or program, requests for reasonable accommodation must be accompanied by documentation of disability which will help us evaluate the limitations of the disability and determine an appropriate reasonable accommodation. Students should submit requests and documentation to program coordinators as soon as possible and no later that two weeks prior to the class start date. We will review and evaluate the request and arrange for a reasonable accommodation that would be appropriate.
• Reasonable accommodation requests (with accompanying documentation of disability) should be submitted prior to registering for any class or program. Program coordinators will contact students to provide information about the status of reasonable accommodation requests.
