How to add your Phone as authenticator (SMS or Call)
- Log into your Office account
- Click on your User Name on top right of the screen
- Navigate to your account settings
- Click on Security Info
- Click on the + beside Add sign-in method
- In the pop up window, click the drop-down menu and select Phone
NOTE: Alternate Phone and Office phone do not have text capability
- Click on Add
- Enter your phone number in the displayed field The next steps are based on the choice you make
- Receive a code
- Click on to get the code as a text message
- You will receive a code on your phone
- Enter this number
- Click on next
- You will see the message “Verification complete”
- Click on Done
- Call me
- Click on next
- SWITCH TO PHONE – answer the call
- Answer the call from Microsoft
- Press # to complete the registration process
- SWITCH TO BROWSER
- You will see the message “Verification complete.”
- Click on Done
- Your MFA setup for receiving a phone call as an authentication method is now complete
