The Inaugural Hostos Student Symposium, with the support of the Ms. MacKenzie Scott’s Gift: President’s Initiatives, will take place on Tuesday, April 18th.
Our Symposium will be a celebration of student work in all disciplines across the college.
To present, students will need to submit a brief application and identify a faculty mentor. Students are welcome to present work from Fall 22 and Spring 23.
Please work with your students to encourage them to apply and consider serving as their faculty mentor.
As a mentor, you will:
- Encourage students to apply
- Work with them to prepare their abstract and help them to prepare to present
- Attend the Symposium
- Be an honored guest at the Student Symposium Celebration Luncheon on April 18th
*Please note there will be a brief meeting on 2/15 at 3:30 on Zoom for faculty interested in serving as faculty mentors to review the expectations and answer any questions you may have about the symposium.*
Students will:
- Work with the support of a faculty mentor to submit an abstract and prepare a presentation on their work this Academic Year
- Present at the Symposium
- Be an honored guest at the Student Symposium Celebration Luncheon on April 18th; family members will also be welcomed.
