Biography:  Antonios Varelas, Ph. D. is a Professor of Psychology in the Behavioral and Social Sciences Department at Hostos Community College, CUNY. Dr. Varelas is a Behavior Analyst with research interests in the use of principles of concept formation in the undergraduate classroom, the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning, and the impact of Supplemental Instruction. In addition to his publication record in each of these areas, he is currently serving as a Co-PI for the NSF funded HEAT Scholarship Program which aims to provide support for academically talented students from populations which have been traditionally underrepresented in the STEM disciplines. Additionally, Dr. Varelas is currently serving as a Hostos Office of Academic Affairs Assessment Fellow and Hostos representative on the CUNY Psychology Discipline Council.
