Hostos Community College is proud to have partnered with the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) these past 23 years. The Longwood Arts Project has been a cornerstone of the Bronx arts community, providing a platform for local artists, engaging with the public through free programming, and fostering artistic expression.

Our beloved Prof. Frances Belcher Moore Webb passed away peacefully on June 15, at 94 years. We take a moment to honor her legacy at Hostos and her commitment to our students' success.

The Hostos Research Center (HRC) and the Committee on Sponsored Programs and Grants (CSPG) invite Faculty and Staff to submit IDEAS – Innovating, Developing and Executing Actions with Success Project proposals addressing institutional needs and/or current research questions with potential to be translated and materialized into external funding opportunities.

The Farmer’s Fridge is located on the 3rd floor of the C Building (450 Grand Concourse) outside the Cafeteria. The Fridge is stocked regularly with fresh, chef-curated salads, bowls, wraps, and snacks. Every item is made of whole, simple ingredients with nothing processed or artificial.
Free COVID-19 and Influenza vaccination clinics are on pause until next semester. You can get your vaccines on campus in February of 2024.

The Carroll and Milton Petrie Foundation Student Emergency Grant is for students in good academic standing with short-term financial emergencies. The award is to enable students to make progress toward graduation. Students must be currently enrolled at Hostos Community College with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Freshmen and transfer students will also be considered.

CUNY TV, the public educational television station of The City University of New York, and “LATiNAS,” one of the station’s Emmy nominated shows, will premiere a six-part series focused on Latinos and hip-hop. The first show in the series will air at 9 p.m. on August 11, which is the 50th anniversary of the house party that was held in a community room at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, now cited as a formative event in hip-hop’s development and regarded by many as its birthday.

President Joe Biden announced a new action plan to provide debt relief and support for student loan borrowers. At an info-session on July 5, many government representatives presented the new steps to follow.
