Dear Faculty,

Get to Know Us...

Our shared goal is student success. By collaborating, faculty and the Career Services Office can ensure a seamless transition from student life to the workforce. Imagine the journey our students take toward their professional careers as a camping trip. Our faculty excels at "filling the students' backpacks" with the necessary knowledge and practical skills. At Career Services, we provide the maps and compasses, guiding students through their career exploration.

Here are some of the services we offer:

Career Guidance: We assist students in identifying careers based on their interests, goals, skills, values, and personality. Throughout their time at Hostos, students rely on us to develop essential job-search skills. We are their go-to resource for job outlook, salary, and employment trend information.

Employer Connections: We work directly with employers who often seek faculty contacts to recruit students in specific majors or disciplines. Employers aim to build mutually beneficial relationships with faculty, offering various forms of support. We facilitate these connections and provide resources to help faculty understand their ethical responsibilities toward students.

Career Fairs: Our career fairs attract numerous recruiters, offering students excellent opportunities to meet industry representatives and establish professional networks. We help students research employers beforehand and provide tips to engage recruiters effectively.

Interview Preparation: There is no better way to prepare for job interviews than through mock interviews. Our staff and recruiter volunteers conduct these sessions, providing constructive critiques and effective interview strategies.

Classroom Presentations: We specialize in presenting career-related topics to your classes and student organizations, covering resume writing, job-search strategies, and interviewing skills. Additionally, we can arrange presentations by professionals, many of whom are alumni, to share their experiences and how their majors have helped them in their careers.

Experiential Learning Opportunities: Experiential learning is a crucial part of students' overall educational experience. Through our network of employers, we help students identify internships that best serve their academic and professional pursuits.

These are just a few of the services we offer. Please contact the Career Services Office to explore how we can work together to achieve student success.

We look forward to collaborating with you.
