View/Change Personal Information in CUNYFirst
The employee should ensure the accuracy of his/her personal information in CUNYFirst via Employee Self Service (ESS).  Incorrect employee information can lead to issues regarding your retirement and health benefits.  If information is incorrect, the employee can change information as follows:
  1. Employee can change the following information in ESS:
  • Address (only mailing address can be a PO Box address)
  • Phone numbers
  • Emergency contacts
  • E-mail address (business email address cannot be altered and must be the preferred choice)
  • Ethnicity
  • Veteran Status
  • Disability
  • CUNY Alert Preferences
 
Note: Changes to any of the above will not trigger notification.
  1. Employee may submit a request for a name change. The CUNYFirst system instructs the employee to provide supporting documentation to HR. This request will be sent to HR for review and approval.  The employee will receive email notification for this transaction.
 
Note: the name on the Social Security card is the employee name that is entered into CUNYFirst.
  1. Employee is not able to change the following information in ESS.  The system instructs the employee to contact HR department regarding incorrect data.
 
  • Marital Status
  • Gender
  • Date of birth
  • Birth country
  • Social Security Number
  • Military status
  • Original start date
  • Highest education level
