Institutional Research & Data Analytics

OIERA provides various data analytics reports for all offices, units, and departments at the College. These annual reports shared below are a snapshot of some of the most important key metrics that are disseminated to the campus community and enable leadership to track the progress of students and make informed decisions to best support student success.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) provide a summary of key metrics by First-time Freshmen Cohort (FTF) essential for monitoring student success at Hostos. Included in the KPIs are:
  • retention (1st semester, 1st year, 2nd year)
  • graduation rates (2 year and 3 year)
  • credit accumulation (20 credits and 30 credits)
  • gateway progress (completion of English and mathematics in the first year)
  • transfer after graduation

Student Profile
The Student Profile provides a snapshot of enrollment of students at Hostos for the last five years, disaggregated across the various demographic categories such as race/ethnicity, student status (full-time/part-time), gender, and age.

Graduation Profile
The Graduation Profile provides an analysis of degree attainment at Hostos for the last five years, disaggregated across degree program.

Gateway Longitudinal Analysis
The Gateway Longitudinal Analysis provides an analysis of the completion of gateway English and mathematics in a student's first year at Hostos. Gateway courses are highly correlated with retention and on-time graduation, and thus are an important focus of the institution.
