    Hostos Community College is proud to have partnered with the Bronx Council on the Arts (BCA) these past 23 years. The Longwood Arts Project has been a cornerstone of the Bronx arts community, providing a platform for local artists, engaging with the public through free programming, and fostering artistic expression.

    The Hostos Research Center (HRC) and the Committee on Sponsored Programs and Grants (CSPG) invite Faculty and Staff to submit IDEAS – Innovating, Developing and Executing Actions with Success Project proposals addressing institutional needs and/or current research questions with potential to be translated and materialized into external funding opportunities.

  • CUNY TV Launches Special Series Spotlighting Latinos in Hip-Hop During Genre’s 50th Anniversary

    CUNY TV, the public educational television station of The City University of New York, and “LATiNAS,” one of the station’s Emmy nominated shows, will premiere a six-part series focused on Latinos and hip-hop. The first show in the series will air at 9 p.m. on August 11, which is the 50th anniversary of the house party that was held in a community room at 1520 Sedgwick Avenue in the Bronx, now cited as a formative event in hip-hop’s development and regarded by many as its birthday.

  • One Stop Program to Distribute Fresh Food Produce Boxes in June

    Hostos One Stop Program, in partnership with B&Y Catering, will be distributing 150 fresh food produce boxes (fruits and vegetables) to Hostos students (first come, first serve) on the following Wednesdays: June 14, 21, and 28, between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
