The Present Labor Situation In Puerto Rico: A Rising Crisis

Puerto Rico is presently undergoing a series of labor issues that affects important sectors of every Puerto Rican on the island. During this forum, speakers will discuss the movement to privatize the Puerto Rican Power Authority with the recent takeover of a stateside company, LUMA Electric, and what it means to the union of electrical workers of UTIER and the consumers. Also to be examined, will be the truckers/transport workers who are fighting to maintain negotiated agreements of two cargo shipping ports in San Juan. Join us as we seek to understand the ramifications these issues present to the island population.
