Father SheehanLess than a week into the New Year, and Hostos faculty and students already have an impressive number of publications, awards, and other honors to add to their list of accomplishments.

The most recent member of the Hostos family to be acknowledged in the greater world is Father James Coy Francis Sheehan, our campus minister. Father Sheehan has been granted a partial scholarship to participate in the Encore Transitional Program at Manhattan’s Union Theological Seminary. The program is designed to bring theological reflection on issues relating to aging and transitional issues encountered on life’s journey.

A respected and much-loved figure at Hostos, “Father Jim” has served as chaplain and campus minister at Hostos since 1999, and provides a spiritual voice at public functions and offers counseling as well as instruction concerning religion and faith.

We are pleased to congratulate Father Jim on his wonderful news!
