“EdCast,” the CUNY TV program hosted and written by Hostos Professor Linda Hirsch, is the recipient of a 2020 Telly Award for excellence in cable broadcasting. The subject of the winning episode is “How to Spot Fake News,” in which Hirsch speaks with Chris Link of the New York Academy of Sciences about the ways in which teachers can help students discern fact from fiction in the news.

This is the sixth Telly Award that Hirsch and EdCast have won. "We are gratified for this recognition of our work in providing a forum for the best voices in education. Now more than ever it's important that students have the resources and abilities they need to face the challenges of an increasingly complex world,"
said Professor Hirsch.

“EdCast” is a co-production of Lehman College and Hostos Community College and is dedicated to exploring the most pressing education issues of the day. Founded in 1979, the Telly Awards honor video and television made for all screens and is judged by a group of leading video and television experts from some of the most prestigious companies in entertainment, publishing, advertising, and emerging technology.

Congratulations, Professor Hirsch!
