Education summit in D.C. attendees
Hostos Associate Dean for Community Relations Ana García Reyes traveled to Washington D.C. to be part of the “Dominicans on the Hill” event held on February 7 commemorating the 175th Anniversary of the independence of the Dominican Republic. The reception hosted elected officials and distinguished educators, dignitaries, executives, and community activists; and welcomed VIP guests U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Hon. Adriano Espaillat (NY-13), and U.S. Dominican Republic Ambassador Hon. José Tomás Pérez.

For García Reyes, the enthusiastic response of the audience demonstrated there is interest and concern in children’s education. She firmly stands by the idea that, “education is always at the core of creating consciousness and progress in any society in the world and it was an honor to participate in such wonderful conversation celebrating Dominican Heritage.”
