Hostos Community College’s Center for Bronx Nonprofits (CBNP) received a $100,000 grant from The New York Community Trust, the city’s community foundation.

Hostos was one of 45 nonprofits in New York City that recently received part of $5.4 million in grants for dozens of promising projects throughout the five boroughs.

Eileen Newman, Executive Director of the CBNP, said she was thrilled to receive the grant, which will be used to bring together community leaders and nonprofit organizations serving the Bronx through workshops, panel discussions, and networking events. Funding will also be used to support the CBNP’s television program, “Mission Bronx,” which is a partnership with BronxNet Television.
