LGBT Career Fair Held at Hostos

On January 31, Hostos was home to the Bronx LGBT Career Fair, which brought together several community partners and leaders to support a diverse workforce in the borough. The event welcomed recruiters and representatives from more than 60 companies, as well as experts who reviewed resumes, career panels with members of the Gay Coaches Collective, and others.

Hostos’ Career Services Director, Lisanette Rosario, partnered with student Kevin Devone, President of the “Free To Be Me” student club, to promote the LGBT Career Fair to Hostos students and alumni. Both Rosario and Devone worked closely with the Office of the Bronx Borough President in preparing for the event.

Participating on a resume writing panel was Berkis Cruz-Eusebio from the ASAP program. A LinkedIn panel was represented by Stacia Maynard from the Career Services Office, as well.

The LGBT Career Fair was sponsored by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and his LGBT Policy Task Force, Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (BOEDC), NYS Department of Labor, the Bronx Chamber of Commerce, the Third Avenue Business Improvement District, Destination Tomorrow, Fresh Direct, and Gay Coaches Collective.
