Earlier in the summertime, on July 28, 2021, the Nasry Michelen Foundation Board took time to acknowledge and celebrate the appointment of Dr. Daisy Cocco De Filippis as President of Eugenio María de Hostos Community College.
During one of the most trying times for College students everywhere, the Nasry Michelen Foundation stepped into action to make a difference at Hostos—from presenting the Nasry Michelen Lecture Series to establishing an Endowment for high achieving Allied Health Students. Board Chair Cira Angeles and Dr. Rafael Lantigua reminisced on the accomplishments of the pandemic year and spoke of the future collaborations they want to grow and mature with between Hostos and the Nasry Michelen Foundation.
“I am beyond grateful to the Nasry Michelen board for their gesture but above all for their generosity in supporting Hostos students,” remarked President Daisy Cocco De Filippis.
In attendance, Dr. Daisy Cocco De Filippis, her husband Nunzio De Filippis, Associate Dean Ana García Reyes, Nasry Michelen Foundation Chair Cira Ángeles, Dr. Rafael Lantigua, Dr. Juan Tapia Mendoza, Dr. Bienvenido Fajardo, Dominicanos USA Executive Director Eddie Cuesta, Dr. Rocio Hernández, and special guest Dr. Nurys De Oleo.
