Hostos is proud to announce that Nydia Ocasio from our Alumni Relations Office serves as one of the main character-dancers in the new Netflix series, “The Get Down,” working alongside Jimmy Smits who plays a prominent club owner in the series.

“The Get Down” premiers THIS Friday (August 12). Based in The Bronx, the show roughly chronicles events and the family dynamic through a musically dense adaptation of life in the late 1970s.
