Working and Learning from Off-Campus

Your safety is vital, and Hostos has a variety of technology-based solutions for students, faculty, and staff that support changes to campus operations. When staying off-campus is necessary, these tools will help you continue to teach, learn, communicate, collaborate, and complete work. In many cases, all you need is a smartphone or other internet-connected device with a web browser.

Resources on our website will help you confirm and maintain your tech readiness, whether you’re a student or a faculty or staff member. Please use them and be prepared when needs arise.

We may add content to this site, so please check back often. And if you have suggestions or ideas that might be useful for others, let us know.

Staying In Touch

During any emergency or crisis, Hostos posts critical information about campus operations on the main Hostos website. Because situations can change quickly, we ask you to stay connected with us for accurate and up-to-date information: check our website, social media accounts, and email. Sign up for CUNY Alerts, too, for timely notifications via automated calls, emails, or text messages.

You’ll also need to watch for direct communications and instructions. Students should follow directions from their instructors. Faculty and staff must stay connected with their supervisors and adhere to CUNY policies and procedures (including guidance for essential employees).

There may be fewer on-site or on-demand services at times, which may affect how quickly your concerns are addressed. We at the College understand that this can be tough and ask for your patience. Please know that we’re doing our best to remain responsive to student, faculty, and staff needs throughout this time.

We rely on each other to get through tough situations together. A little patience, understanding, and kindness for those around us goes a long way in adapting to changing circumstances.

Finally, if you have questions or comments about our COVID-19 communications, let us know!
