Welcome to the spring semester! Hostos continues to take all necessary actions to keep our buildings clean and safe for in-person teaching and learning and campus activities. For our students, faculty, and staff who have questions about the policies for returning to campus, CUNY has updated the COVID guidelines for the Spring 2023 semester and they can be viewed in Hostos’
Campus COVID-19 Plan and
COVID-19 Readiness website.
The important highlights include:
- Students who are new and/or returning to campus in the spring are required to be vaccinated. Student participation in on-campus activities will require proof of vaccination. Only medical or religious exemptions will be accepted.
- Booster shots are strongly encouraged but are not currently required.
- Face masks are not required on campus at this time, however, individuals are welcome to continue wearing masks.
- CUNY will continue to require individuals to comply with quarantine/isolation and clearance mandates. If you are experiencing COVID-related symptoms or if you have tested positive for COVID-19, you must contact the following individuals:
Additionally, effective February 1, 2023:
- CUNY will no longer require proof of vaccination or recent negative COVID test for visitors. A visitor to a University campus is defined as someone who is not a CUNY student, faculty, or staff member.
- CUNY will reduce Random Testing from 10% of the on-campus population to 5%. Participation in the random surveillance testing is mandatory and failure to comply will result in the removal of the individual’s Cleared4 access pass to CUNY spaces.
- CUNY will no longer require gateway testing for student athletes.
