Join us for this exciting and timely conversation on “bomba y plena en acción,” bringing together voices from three key cities of the Puerto Rican diaspora: New York City, Philadelphia, and the DVM (D.C. / Maryland / Virginia). We look forward to hearing from practitioner, culture worker, and folklife perspectives on place keeping and cultural sustainability through Bomba and Plena in the diaspora over the past four decades. This event offers a space to share memories, success stories and best practices around mobilizing traditional culture in service of social change in our communities today.
