The 3X Grammy-Winning Spanish Harlem Orchestra (SHO) brings its energetic, hard-hitting rhythms, and musical precision to Hostos Center with “Salsa Navidad,” a special concert of holiday classics in “salsa-dura-style!” This night of holiday cheer features that beloved NYC salsa sound, as well as the Puerto Rican holiday styles of the “aguinaldos,” highlighted by the virtuoso Fabiola Muñoz on the cuatro, the island’s national stringed instrument. Additionally, the evening will showcase new music from SHO’s most recent project.
Led by Grammy-winning pianist Oscar Hernández, SHO has been described as “one of the most important contemporary Latin music ensembles in existence today” by the Latin Jazz Network, setting the gold standard for excellence in authentic, New York-style, hard-core salsa and Latin jazz. Join us and get ready for an evening of ¡Salsa Navidad!
