In celebration of Dominican Heritage Month – Mes de la Patria – Hostos Center is proud to present an extraordinary concert dedicated to the island’s defining rhythms. From Típico, Merengue, and Bachata to the fierce, propulsive energy of Dembow, the evening will offer an authentic musical journey that brings Quisqueya to life on the Hostos stage.

The concert features a powerhouse lineup of legends and contemporary stars:

  • Raul Acosta & Oro Sólido: World-renowned for their irresistible merengue hits.
  • Tito Kenton: The legendary icon whose artistry defines Dominican musical excellence.
  • Shino Aguakate: The master of merengue típico, blending tradition with wit and humor.
  • El Gringo de la Bachata: The gold standard of bachata vocals, with a legacy of beloved classics.
  • Juancky “La Diferencia,” El Manuel Calle, Sandy C Flow & Stalin B: The New Wave! Bringing the modern heartbeat of Santo Domingo to the heart of New York.
The festivities will also showcase the virtuosity of soloists on the típica tambora and the saxophone. Together with folkloric dancers and spectacular masked carnival figures - including diablos cojuelos - they will bring the color, rhythms, and spirit of the island to every corner of the theater.

En celebración del Mes de la Herencia Dominicana - el Mes de la Patria - el Hostos Center se enorgullece de presentar un concierto extraordinario dedicado a los ritmos que definen a la isla. Desde el típico, el merengue y la bachata, hasta el pulso incontenible del dembow, la noche ofrecerá un auténtico viaje musical que dará vida a Quisqueya en el escenario de Hostos.

Las festividades también contarán con la virtuosidad de solistas en la tambora típica y en el saxofón. Junto a los bailarines folclóricos y los espectaculares personajes del carnaval – incluidos los diablos cojuelos - traerán el color, los ritmos y la alegría de la isla a cada rincón del teatro.
